Book number nine.

My only resolution for 2014 is to read more than last year. Just finished my 9th book – Unconscious Branding: How Neuroscience Can Empower And Inspire Marketing, by Douglas Van Praet.

Fantastic read. One of those books i’ll keep coming back to. I was drawn to it by Praet’s work in Strategy and Planning, but more for the fact that he actually practiced as a behavior change therapist to supplement his understanding of the subject.

It tickled my infatuation with Behavioral Psychology, and everything neuro, and it paid off.

Very simply, it examines how the unconscious mind plays a bigger role in the (brand) decision making process than we (as marketers) care to notice or admit. It’s good. Many insights to chew on. Time well spent.

Next up, Instinct by Dr. TD Jakes and The Cluetrain Manifesto.
